Okay, I think I figured it out how to do this blog. I am not new to computers, but I am to blogging.

This is my first draft for the assignment "The Animal In You" I chose The Old Lady Who Lived In A Shoe, and substiuted her with a spider. I chose the spider because they have lots of babies and they are very protective of their young. I found that they often keep their young alive if there are no bugs by feeding them pollen and nectar. Yum!!

Thank you for your ideas and comments!

Judy, I believe you're image didn't come through. If you want to add it, try clicking on the camera on the toolbar when you add a comment. It should allow you to click on your libraries and/or pictures so you can browse . . .. I'll look at your link too, but you can also add it as a remark on your own blog post.

I love the verse you added to your image. Nice touch!!! My only observation (and this may be because there is no shading or color added) is that the spider sort of melds into the shoe and competes in the composition. My eye wants to slide her over to the right a bit to move the eye throughout the picture. I really like your idea here and how you made a spider on the endearing side of things is a HUGE accomplishment. :-)

I will try adding the image again. Did you view it from the link?

I was sort of thinking the same thing but thought I would see what happend when I started adding color. I will play with it some more. Thanks!

Hi Judy,
I agree with Cynthia on the "melding" and also aware this is a first past. I really like Mom's face, especially her lips. She is definitely a patient mom with all her little spiderlings. I like the web across the boot too. Fun illustration.

thanks guys! This is why I love to have you around. I was questioning the position of the spider and now from your input I know, first, listen to your instincts and, second, I have some great advise out there. I will get my revisions out soon. Donna, are you doing the project this time?? I was looking forward to your drawings and ideas.

Yep, I'm going to play. Just a bit behind after my weekend at the VC conference. I think I'm going for the Dr. J and Mr. H. I'm reading the original story now and plan to start this weekend. Supposed to rain? Perfect for sketching. Looking forward to your progress revisions Judy.
